Arrangements have been made for the conduct of the Monash University Gippsland Student Union Inc. 2008 Election for the following position/s:
- President
- Education Vice President
- Off Campus Vice President (must be an off campus student)
- Treasurer/Secretary
- Media Director
- Activities Director
- Sport and Recreation Director
- Women’s Director (must be female)
- Student Affairs
- Environment Director
- NUS Delegates x 3
- Staff Representative (must be A Monash Gippsland Campus staff member)
The successful candidate will begin their term of office 1st November 2008 until 31st October 2009
NOMINATIONS
Nominations are to be made in writing, signed by two persons entitled to vote at the elections as nominator and seconder and contain the written consent of the candidate.
Where a ballot is necessary to decide the elections, a ‘draw’ to determine the order of candidates’ names on the ballot paper will be conducted by the Returning Officer, Ms Cassandra Webb, in the MUGSU Lounge on Friday 5th September at 1pm. Candidates are encouraged to attend the ‘draw’ where possible. Nomination forms can be returned by mail, fax, or via the Nomination Box located at MUGZOO.
CANDIDATES PHOTOGRAPHS AND STATEMENTS
Candidates should submit a current passport sized photograph and a policy statement of up to 300 words preferably in electronic format to the Returning Officer. Additional material will not be accepted and material will be printed as supplied. The photograph and statement (if provided) MUST be submitted prior to the close of nominations.
POLLING
A poll will be conducted via a polling booth on campus and an online voting system.
UNION BOARD TRAINING
The successful candidate will have an induction from the incumbent to learn about the responsibilities of their role. They must also make every effort to be available to attend the Board Training Weekend on November 14th-17th.
