Vision Statement
The philosophy of the Monash University Gippsland Student Union Inc. is to provide a democratic organisation that serves to empower its members through decision-making processes that directly effect the quality of their university educational experience, and by mediating between governing bodies and students.
MUGSU Inc. holds true that: - We are a non-discriminatory body which represents a range of country, city, international and distance education students;
- We aim to facilitate mediation, social opportunities, employment, academic and service needs;
- We will serve this philosophy by being professional, accountable, accessible, flexible and equitable to our members and clientele.
Code of Conduct A guide to the conduct of the Union Board, Union Board Appointed Representatives, Clubs and Society Office Bearers and Union Employees. - We will uphold the ideals within the aims, objectives and vision statement of the Union;
- We strive for excellence and proficiency;
- We comply with all legislative, industrial and constitutional requirements in the execution of our duties;
- We conduct ourselves with integrity and are fair, honest, impartial and compassionate in our undertakings and treat others with dignity;
- We take responsibility for public comment on behalf of the Union/Clubs and Societies and our personal public comments;
- We are responsible for the dissemination and confidentiality, where applicable, of Union, Clubs and Societies and University information;
- We administer Union equipment and facilities to allow the maximisation of benefit to our members.
Code of Behaviour A guide to the conduct of the Union Board, Union Board Appointed Representatives, Clubs and Society Office Bearers and Union Employees. - We will respectfully and responsibly represent the Union and University whilst engaged in campus activities.

- We will conduct ourselves in a mature manner that is complimentary to the public standing of the Union and University.

- We will refrain from the use of personal remarks that are offensive, insulting, degrading or derogatory.
- We will be polite and courteous towards members and staff at all times and in any official dealings with the public.
- We will maintain formality when engaged in official Union business.
- We will abide by acceptable community standards of behaviour and comply with all legislative requirements in that regard.
